Specialized Nursing Homes

Looking after a relative with Alzheimer's or dementia can be a huge burden. About 35 percent of all nursing homes provide such special care in a separate wing or unit of their facility, according to MetLife. Average daily rates for those who pay privately are $228 for a private room and $206 for a semi-private room.
