Join a Genealogical Society

By joining a society, you meet others who are doing similar research to you so you can share tips and resource ideas. As a member of a society, you can also attend workshops that make you a better researcher and keep you up-to-date on the latest genealogical software. Costs vary. The annual membership in the Irish Genealogical Society International runs $30. Memberships for local genealogical societies, such as the Irish Genealogical Society of Michigan, run $12 per year.

Running Tally: $3,137 (assumes local society membership)
