Pool Membership

Swimming in a lake or an ocean is very different from swimming in a pool. Still, it's critical for a triathlete to have access to a pool for training. In Kona, Hawaii, home of the original Ironman, Lieto belongs to Kona Aquatics. In California he belongs to Walnut Creek Aquabears, where he pays $6 per workout.

$300: Pool membership fee (one year) -- Kona Aquatics

Running Tally: $4,155
