Fighting Terrorists

There's stress -- and then there's stress. Mark Gleason, a Wall Street management consultant, wanted to know how he'd react under intense stress. "I wanted to build mental toughness," he says. So he signed up for Covert Ops Training in Florida. The course, developed by a former member of the Israeli Defense Forces, simulates a terrorist attack and tests your instincts when red-faced instructors start screaming and trying to incite panic. When the attack came in his course, Gleason was sitting in a car. He pulled out his pistol, shot the "terrorists," removed his seat belt, jumped on the hood and fired again.
