Swinging Big

Every year thousands of fans head out to see America's ballparks. At Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, for example, up to 18,000 people tour the ballpark every season, according to Colby Curry, a spokesman for the Kansas City Royals. Baseball tour operators, such as Jay Buckley's Baseball Tours and Sports Travel & Tours are capitalizing on the interest and creating multi-stadium tours for thousands of visitors per season. Graham Knight of baseballpilgrimages.com says it's no wonder -- the parks are a salute to American culture and often reflect bygone eras.
