It's not unusual for wealthy families to shuttle their youngsters to camps via private jets. Last year the airport in Augusta, Maine, found its runways clogged with 51 private planes during three days when many kids were heading to camp. $380: Round-trip airfare ($350) from Philadelphia to Maine plus airport transfer ($30) -- there is no charge for the escort -- US Airways

Running tally: $13,555
