There were nearly 2 million jobs in the golf industry in 2011, and employees received $55.6 billion in wages and benefits, according to SRI. It’s not just the pros on tour who are doing well. When Tim Fenchen, PGA Tour Commissioner, signed a contract in 2009 that extended his position as commissioner through 2016, he got an annual salary of almost $5 million, according to Golf Digest.
