"Most of us think of coming into money as a panacea for life's ills, when it can actually carry a whole host of psychological issues--from not being certain what to do with your life to wondering whether people like you for you or your money," says Stephen Goldbart, a San Francisco psychologist. Goldbart has coined the term "sudden wealth syndrome" for this common anxiety. A therapist can cost $200 an hour.
