Imagine you've been working at the same job your entire life and suddenly you don't have to because you won the lottery. "Most of us think of coming into money as a panacea for life's ills, when it can actually carry a whole host of psychological issues--from not being certain what to do with your life to wondering whether people like you for you or your money," says Stephen Goldbart, a San Francisco psychologist. Goldbart has coined the term "sudden wealth syndrome" for this common anxiety. A therapist can cost $200 an hour.
