Running Coach

If you can't seem to break a time or distance barrier you've set as a goal, a coach may help you progress faster while providing crucial mental support. Mike Kennedy of the University of Denver ran only in 10-kilometer races until he turned to Coach David Manthey. A Road Runners Club of America certified running coach, Manthey founded the Runners Edge of the Rockies in Denver and has completed 11 road marathons and 12 ultramarathons (races longer than a marathon). "David created a training plan for me and gave me confidence, " says Kennedy. The result: Since 2005, Kennedy has run 22 marathons.
