Web Site is Cornerstone of Kedrosky’s Cross-Media Contributions
New York — Paul Kedrosky, the technology and finance analyst,
venture capitalist and author of the blog Infectious Greed, has
officially launched a new blog on Bloomberg.com
(http://bloomberg.com/kedrosky). Additionally, Kedrosky will be
a contributor across Bloomberg’s media properties.
Kedrosky’s commentary on finance, business, current affairs and
science will appear on the “Paul Kedrosky” blog, as well as on
the Bloomberg Professional® service, where he’ll be joining
Bloomberg News’ existing team of columnists including Michael
Lewis, Al Hunt, Margaret Carlson, Caroline Baum and Jonathan
Weil. In addition, Kedrosky will make appearances on Bloomberg
Television and Bloomberg Radio and write for Bloomberg
“Paul has a strong voice in the business blogosphere, and his
deep knowledge of finance and technology will complement our
current roster,” said Bloomberg Businessweek Editor Josh
Tyrangiel, who’s also responsible for editorial direction of
Businessweek.com and Bloomberg.com.
“This type of model, pairing high quality advertising with a
must-read contributor across our unique and broad range of media
assets, is a key strategy for us,” said Kevin Krim, global head
of Bloomberg Web Properties.
“I’m teaming with Bloomberg because it’s the preeminent provider
of global financial and economic news, data and information,”
said Kedrosky. “We see things in similar ways: we love data,
visuals, and synthesizing across economics, markets, sports,
science, technology and current affairs.”
Bloomberg will also exclusively sell advertising on Infectious
Greed, which will continue to operate as a separate site.
With a Ph.D. in the economics of technology and a master’s
degree in finance, Kedrosky has a variety of roles in business.
He is a senior fellow with the $2 billion Kauffman Foundation,
where he is focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and the
future of risk capital, as well as advising the Foundation on
portfolio issues. In addition, Kedrosky is an active investor in
both private and public companies, having sold businesses to
Cisco and Twitter, among many others.
Kedrosky has also been a successful entrepreneur and was one of
the first analysts to cover Internet companies. In 1999 he
financed and launched one of the first hosted blog services,
GrokSoup and founded the technology equity research practice at
HSBC James Capel. Kedrosky was previously an analyst for CNBC
and contributor for TheStreet.com.
