At Bloomberg, we’ve always believed in disruptive ideas that level the playing field, empower people and even change the world. We work hard to maintain an innovative culture in our own company, and we admire entrepreneurs who are thinking about big challenges in new ways.
That’s why we’re so excited to announce the launch of Bloomberg Beta, a venture fund that will invest in and create early-stage technology companies.
Bloomberg Beta will initially focus on startups that are innovating in the fields that are interesting and relevant to our core business – data analysis, content discovery, media distribution, human-computer interaction and radically new organizational models, just to name a few. Our first announced investments are Newsle, MkII, Nodejitsu, Codecademy, Errplane and ProsperWorks.
We’ve chosen a great team for Bloomberg Beta. It will be led by Roy Bahat, a world-class technology business operator, and he’ll be joined by Karin Klein, former head of new initiatives at Bloomberg, and James Cham, former principal at Trinity Ventures.
We’re excited to get the fund off the ground.
