The Role:Bloomberg Global Facilities Department is seeking a Datacenter Site Manager in Orangeburg, NY who will be responsible for directing & coordinating Facilities infrastructure related activities in a 50ksf data center. The candidate shall provide management of the day-to-day operations of the MEP infrastructure that support this large-scale tier 3+ data center, while ensuring that the highest levels of reliability and availability are maintained. The individual will interact daily with the in-house maintenance teams, external vendors, and Bloomberg staff at all levels, assisting in developing, coordinating and ensuring our organizational processes and procedures are followed.
This is a hands-on roll for an experienced engineer that is currently managing a mission critical facilities infrastructure. We seek an individual with a solid background in electrical systems operating experience with an in-depth appreciation of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate for this role shall possess a comprehensive knowledge of large scale data centers, including state-of-the-art electrical distribution systems, static UPS systems, emergency standby generator systems, -48V DC power systems, fire detection & suppression systems and security infrastructures. In addition the candidate will have a thorough understanding of building controls and monitoring systems.
The responsibilities of the role shall include scheduling, coordinating and participation in all significant planned and emergency maintenance for the facility. The individual shall ensure that these activities are executed in a controlled and proven way that ensures the uninterrupted integrity of the critical loads supported by the systems. Responsibilities also include developing operating and maintenance strategies to ensure continuous availability of systems. Developing and updating preventative/predictive maintenance programs for critical equipment. Coordinating and inspecting services performed by outsourced vendors. Managing costs and budgets associated with the critical infrastructure and associated operations. Addition responsibilities include vendor and contractor management, recommending and reviewing proposals for energy reductions and incident report tracking management via Bloomberg in-house management and ticketing systems.
Qualifications:-Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum 5 years hands on critical datacenter facilities management
-Strong project management experience
-Experience with the operation and maintenance of UPS, generators, HVAC chillers, fire detection & suppression systems, and BMS systems in mission critical environments
-Ability to read floor plans, single lines schematic and construction drawings
-Expertise in popular Microsoft office suite applications, particularly PowerPoint. High skill level in general written communication and technical writing skills
-Reside within a reasonable distance from the facility in order to respond to emergencies in a timely fashion
-Willingness to respond to support calls out of hours as typical in a role of this nature
-Familiarity with AutoCad.
-Familiarity with documentation techniques, change management, SOP's, MOP's.
