Best Cities for Gen Yers To Survive The Great Recession

Check out this great story and slide show of the best cities for new college graduates and Gen Yers to find jobs and/or just survive the current economic crisis. I was surprised to see that big cities topped the list??nd Portland, Oregon didn?? make the TOP 10. Richard Florida, now a professor at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, designed the criteria.New York City, despite the Wall Street crisis, comes out No. 1 and Washington, DC No. 2.

Why big cities? Florida says that a ??hick?job market is key, but not the only key. A “thick” social meeting market is key as well. Meeting friends and networking is essential to getting jobs today, especially for Gen Yers. It’s all about economic sociology.

And mating too, of course.

Which cities do you think work best for graduating seniors today?
