Julie Strong, senior associate director for MBA admissions, and Jennifer Burke Barba, assistant director of MBA admissions, will answer your questions on everything from standing out among the pool of applicants to campus culture.
Strong, who is responsible for online, print, and video marketing of the MBA program, has held this position at Sloan since 2000. She also serves on the MBA admissions and enrollment team, reads applications, gives presentations, and interviews candidates. She is co-chair of the MIT Sloan Diversity Committee, serves as an elected member of the Forté Foundation board of directors, and is a school representative to the Graduate Management Admission Council. Strong holds a BA in world issues from the School for International Training and a master's in education from Harvard University.
Barba, as a member of the MBA Admissions Committee, participates in the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of the MBA class. She leads outreach to early-career MBA candidates by managing relationships with analyst programs and undergraduate institutions, and she has been a member of the admissions team since 2002. She has also worked as assistant director of admissions at Harvard Law School and as an analyst at Boeing. Barba holds an undergraduate degree in marketing and international business from Villanova University, a graduate certificate in management from Harvard University, and a master's in higher education administration from Boston College.
