Geneva Auto Show: Magna Takes Matters Into Its Own Hands

If you are an auato supplier these days, you have to be pretty tired of waiting for your next margin cut from an automaker.

Austrian automaker Magna Steyr is known for assembling automakers’ vehicles on a contract basis. It has been building the BMW X3, for example, for the German automaker.

Magna this week is showing a finished car it developed, the Mila EV, in the hopes that one of the automakers in the world will simply buy the thing and rebrand it.

The five-door hatch is powered by a 67-hp motor fueled by a lithium-ion pack developed by the company. It should travel a bit less than 100 miles on a 2.5 hour charge.
