What you believe drives what you achieve. How you think about yourself, your core purpose, your people, your work, and your organization—leads to your feelings, actions, and, therefore, directly to the results you are getting. Although we measure results all the time, rarely do we take a hard look under the hood at the quality of the beliefs that produced them. Identify a problem, change your mind about it, and you change the outcome. So rather than editing your actions, try going a level deeper, and choosing higher-performing beliefs—ones that put you in service to those you lead, and to a greater good—and new solutions will flow.
