I Don't Care If It's 2007. This Is Still The Best Campaign Song Of '08

Hillary Clinton chose a freaking Celine Dion song for her campaign theme. Hip-hoppers Roy Shivers and King Solomon roll their own for GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul. And it’s awesome. As an added bonus, it’s unquestionably the only song in 2007 to use the phrase “bilateral trade” in close proximity to “smoke killer herb.”

There is no way any campaign song for any 2008 candidate—whether newly written, or appropriated from elsewhere— ends up half as good as this.

Obligatory Notes: This is an aesthetic endorsement, not a political one. NSFW, for cursing. (And for the shots of Giuliani in drag. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

(Hat tip: Andrew Sullivan.)
