Wal-Mart Needs Another Business Model.

Bruce Nussbaum

Back in November, '06, I posted a view that Wal-Mart needed something different if it was to succeed moving forward. There was an avalanche of comment for that post. Now, I realize that the conversation around Wal-Mart is hot and political, with different groups mobilizing emails, faxes and comments to blogs so I can't say if these comments are truly representative of consumers feel about Wal-Mart.

But Tony Bianco's great Wal-Mart story--It's mid-life crisis-- suggests that the folks running the company really should take a look. People are complaining about terrible service, the dropping of lay-a-way financing that the working poor rely on, bad management, poor health services for employees and more.
