Want to get into No. 1 B-school in the U.S.? Then, you don't want to miss BusinessWeek.com's live chat on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. EST. You'll get the chance to ask Rosemaria Martinelli, associate dean of student recruitment and admissions at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, for application advice and get an insider's look at the Chicago experience. She, along with two current Chicago GSB students, will take your questions on everything from essay tips to work load.
Before signing on to head Chicago admissions in May, 2005, Martinelli was the director of MBA Admissions & Financial Aid at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School for five years. There, she led the team that transformed the MBA admissions process, so it would focus on transparency, effective communications, and engagement of key constituent groups in the admissions process (alumni, students, and corporate partners). For the first 15 years of her working life, after receiving her undergraduate and Master's degrees in vocal performance from Northwestern University, Martinelli was a professional opera and concert singer. Today, aspiring MBAs are hoping she will read their applications and sing their praises. If you're one of them, then please join us.
Your moderator for this live chat will be Francesca Di Meglio (FrancescaBW), BusinessWeek.com's B-schools community manager and reporter.
Hope to see you there!
If you can't attend the live event, you can send Francesca Di Meglio (firstname.lastname@example.org) questions for the guest in advance, and she will try to pose as many as she can. Please use the subject line "Chicago Chat." Or you may simply read the transcript that we post afterward.
