Is Google's Gbuy Almost Here?

Rob Hof

So it seems from a post on the Google Base blog, plus some background on Google's main blog. According to Google:

For buyers, this feature will provide a convenient and secure way to purchase Google Base items by credit card. For sellers, this feature integrates transaction processing with Google Base item management. We're starting with a very small number of sellers and we expect to include more over the next several months.

There's a page here to get notified when it's public. Here's Bill Burnham's analysis on the potential impact on eBay and its PayPal unit--which he thinks will be huge.

It's good to be true as competitions in such regards fall always on the benefits of the small fish.

I think it will be a good thing, if Gbuy will be more secure than PayPal, because PayPal has a lot of problems with unverifyed users, there are too many frauds through PayPal, and PayPal isn’t serious managing these frauds. I think ebay could match Ebay and PayPal user info, but they don't, so there are a lot of problems with some users.

I think Google will be better, because they just collected millions of information about people, Adsense and Adwords, so they just verified million users, and I think Gbuy it will be the best and most secure payment system.
