Million dollar Web entrepreneur targeted by extortionists

It's no easy thing to be the Horatio Alger of in Internet advertising. British student Alex Tew struck it rich by selling pixels on his Web page to advertisers for $1 each. The result was this colorful quilt of lucre. Now it appears extortionists have hit him with a denial of service attacks, and an advertiser is suing because the site was down.

The lesson? Success draws outlaws, who in the world of the net are just a click or two away. In retrospect, sometime between hatching the idea and gaining monster publicity for it, Alex should have secured the site, arranged for massive bandwidth, and hired a lawyer. Next time he probably will.
