Who Would have thunk it: Professional Film Blogger
Hugh MacLeod at Gapingvoid writes that Gia Milinovich, who I am guessing is a friend of his, just landed a professional movie blogging job. What a great gig and, dope that I am, I never would have thought this would exist. Are there other, unique blogging jobs that people know about?

I don't know of any, but if there's anyone out there looking for someone to blog about book reviews...the quality of beaches (could that one come with an expense account, please?!)...or maybe the merits of various spas - I'm in. :-)

Quality of beaches is fantastic. i think i would love to be paid to blog about shopping for green or organic clothing! or maybe a guide to the best scuba diving!

Thanks for the link, Heather!
I'm absolutely over the Moon about this job. Danny Boyle is just the most brilliant director, Alex Garland an amazing writer, the producer Andrew MacDonald has done some of the most successful British films of recent years (and is truly lovely)... the script is fantastic, the cast is brilliant, the sets amazing, the production design is remarkable... it's a dream come true for a girl from Duluth, MN!

So exciting to hear from you, Gia. It just sounds wonderful!

Believe me when I tell you Heather, there is no end to the jobs a blogger can get. I have had some very interesting emails from people asking about blogging jobs both from the company hiring side and the blogger looking for work.
Sandra shoot me an email, we might just have that spa blogging gig at www.b4h.onebyonemedia.com

Uh... Gia... you're not doing a Scoble on us here, are you? You know, so hugely enthusiastic about the new corporate overlord that somehow the crap aspects get brushed aside? :-)
It's an interesting problem; maintaining a journalist's integrity and hence the readers' respect, whilst being paid out of the marketing budget.

Jonathan, are you comparing Microsoft with Danny Boyle films?! One involves insanity, drug-taking and zombies and the other...

Adrants posts a story about a film being promoted solely by blogging. http://www.adrants.com/2005/08/blowing-smoke-movie-promoted-and.php#comments
Must be lots of opportunity for that...introducing new bands, brands, etc.

I'm setting up two blogs where I'll be paid to blog for non-proffit groups. I'm pretty excited about it, but we'll see how it goes.
