Bashing Bush

As the day of reckoning approaches, tempers are boiling over. At the extreme edge, The Guardian was forced to apologize Oct. 24 after one of its writers appeared to call for the assasination of President Bush. And on Oct. 26, a man in Florida tried to use a car to run down Rep. Katherine Harris, who was Florida's secretary of state during the 2000 election.

Fortunately, most people seem content to express their venom by wearing t-shirts and buttons. Today, I take a look at how that animosity is creating an unprecedented cottage industry of campaign merchandise, and it's implications for the badly frayed social fabric.
