His father was killed in Iraq when Fouad was just 2 1/2 years old. As his mother battled severe medical problems, the son bounced around among acquaintances until he was sent to the Milton Hershey School.

Fouad believes the decision by the Milton Hershey School Trust to sell the candymaker will destabilize the Hershey (Pa.) community, ultimately harming the school and its students.
