Morgan Stanley Cuts Software Firms after Oracle Warning

Morgan Stanley downgraded several software firms to neutral from outperform:

BEA Systems (BEAS)

Click Commerce (CKCM)

Computer Associates (CA)

Informatica (INFA)

i2 Technologies (ITWO) (PPRO)

See Beyond Technologies (SBYN)

Seibel Systems (SEBL)

Oracle (ORCL)

Veritas (VRTS)

Vignette (VIGN)

Analyst Charles Phillips says the downgrades come on the back of Oracle's negative preannouncement and says Oracle issues will affect several enterprise software companies in his universe. He remains cautious until he sees signs of economic recovery. For Click Commerce, Phillips sees $0.02 2001 EPS, and $0.14 2002 EPS.
