Sweet Suite

Remember when Mac software from Microsoft Corp. was too little, too late, and too buggy? That may be changing. Microsoft's Mac Business Unit has just unveiled the latest version of the company's business productivity suite--Office: Mac 2001--and in some ways it improves on Microsoft's own Windows version. For the business user, it's probably worth the price: $450 (approximate retail) for a complete version, and $250 for an upgrade from Office 98.

The software takes full advantage of the Mac operating system, such as dragging and dropping text between programs. But the best feature is Entourage, an e-mail/scheduling/contact-list program that syncs with the Palm. Mac Office users can now put all their info in one program. And when it's time to do a mass mailing or put together a budget, the same information can link to Word and Excel.By Anthony Paonita
