THE COMDEX SHOW'S NEW SHOWMAN HE KEEPS GOING AND GOING:

On Feb. 14, Japan's Masayoshi Son picked up another trophy. The 37-year-old billionaire entrepreneur, president of high-tech publisher Softbank, agreed to buy the annual Comdex computer show and 16 smaller ones for $800 million from Interface Group. Last fall, Son paid $202 million for the trade-show unit of Ziff-Davis Publishing after a failed $1.6 billion bid for the whole company. Son made his fortune selling Japanese-language PC magazines and software packages to his information-hungry country.
