THE TROUBLE WITH UNIONS
Your article "Why America needs unions, but not the kind it has now" (The Workplace, May. 23) was well researched and well presented.
At the present time, the more serious problems are the government-employee unions, municipal-employee unions, and the National Education Assn. My observation of this group is that they are much more interested in benefits and salaries than they are in education.

I would like to correct one point in the story. Rather than: "And many employees, union and nonunion alike, will suffer, whether they know it or not," the sentence should read: "And many employees, union and nonunion alike, and companies will suffer...."
