MICROSOFT'S CROWDED EXECUTIVE SUITE
One thing you can say for Microsoft Chairman William Gates: He's consistent--consistently demanding. On Feb. 3, he ousted President Michael Hallman, who has been in the post for two years. Said Gates: "I didn't see him as a match for what the job had grown to."
Evidently, Gates doesn't think any one person is a match for the job. He's filling the office of the president with three longtime Microsoft executives: Steve Ballmer, Michael Maples, and Francis Gaudette.EDITED BY HARRIS COLLINGWOOD
