How Many $60,000 Cadillacs Will The Japanese Buy?

Readers Report

HOW MANY $60,000 CADILLACS WILL THE JAPANESE BUY?

Little wonder we can't sell cars in Japan if Cadillacs are going for a mere $60,000, while at the same time rebates are being offered on Japanese cars sold in the U. S. ("What's this? American cars gaining in Japan?," Industries, July 22).

Meanwhile, millions of Japanese cars are literally being dumped in the U. S. at prices I suspect are equal to or lower than prices paid in Japan for the same car. And gosh, isn't it wonderful that we could top our record sales of 16,709 units that were sold to Japan in 1979. We might even sell 18,000 or 20,000 units this year.
