KEATING IN COURT

When Charles Keating enters a Los Angeles state courtroom on Aug. 2 for his trial for securities fraud, he'll recognize many of his accusers. On July 22, former Lincoln Savings President Robin Symes pleaded guilty to state and federal securities-fraud charges, becoming the fourth former Keating aide to do so.

Symes is expected to cooperate with federal prosecutors, who are gathering evidence that could soon lead to an indictment of Keating. Symes also is expected to testify in the state criminal trial against Keating and co-defendant Judy Wischer, a former president of American Continental, Lincoln's owner.EDITED BY HARRIS COLLINGWOOD
