100% of 4G smartphones in the U.S., and 85 percent worldwide, contain Qualcomm (QCOM) chips. (ABI Research estimates 245 million 4G LTE mobile devices will ship in 2013.) Qualcomm has spent billions in the past decade to develop smartphone radio chips that deliver faster download speeds.
