Moms already know about multitasking, leading the pack, and sticking to a budget, which is probably why some of them are intrigued by the possibility of earning an MBA. When the idea strikes them to go back to school, some moms turn to the Bloomberg Businessweek Business School Forums for advice on the application process and how to explain any time they took off to raise their children.

Recently, JoannaMBA turned to forum participants to help decide whether returning to school for an MBA is a realistic goal, considering that she has no work experience because she started having kids immediately after earning her undergraduate degree. Some responses she received painted a grim picture because business schools usually want people who have worked for a few years, while others commended her courage in wishing to return to school.

What do you think? Share your thoughts at the “Full time mom pursuing an MBA” discussion thread.

Editor’s Note: This blog post is part of a series about discussions taking place on the Bloomberg Businessweek Business School Forums, where prospective MBA program applicants, current students, and recent alumni trade admissions tips, job-hunting advice, and the occasional barbed comment. We invite you to join these discussions or start one of your own.
