Best B-School Road Trip: Booth School of Business

Bloomberg Businessweek's Jeniece Pettitt and Rachel Crane head to the University of Chicago for a look at what it takes to succeed at the Booth School of Business.

About Booth School of Business

Since 1898, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business has produced ideas and leaders that shape the world of business. Our rigorous, discipline-based approach to business education transforms our students into confident, respected business leaders who are well-equipped to face the toughest challenges. We are proud to claim: •an unmatched faculty that excels at teaching and research •degree and open enrollment programs offered on three continents •a global body of nearly 49,000 accomplished alumni •strong and growing corporate relationships that provide a wealth of lifelong career opportunities.

Chicago-Booth simultaneously runs three cohorts in every EMBA class (Chicago-, London-, and Singapore-based). Thus, the program sources students from around the globe and educates them exclusively with Chicago Booth faculty. Four to five separate times during the program, all students are reunited (two or three times in Chicago, and once each in London and Singapore) for week-long immersion experiences. Hence, you connect with and learn from executives around the world. Our class sourced students from every inhabited continent except for Australia, which I found to be an exceptional opportunity from a North American-based EMBA program. Further, alumni consistently return to the program to participate in EMBA electives week and alumni are also offered to attend three free MBA courses of their choice in the future. Hence there is a nice continuing education and future network aspect to the program that I find very attractive.
