Live Chat: Admissions Advice for Foreign MBAs

Chat: Aug. 18 12 p.m. EDT
Guest: Graham Richmond, co-founder and CEO of Clear Admit, an admissions consulting firm

International MBA students and applicants are facing hard times. Those who would like to attend business school in the U.S. often face the obstacle of finding a co-signer for loans. Acquiring the proper visas to study and work in the U.S. has become increasingly difficult. In fact, applications from international students were down at most U.S. business schools. As a result, many international applicants with an interest in American business schools have questions about how to navigate these shores. And BusinessWeek would like to help you get answers.

From applying to business school to getting through a U.S. program, Graham Richmond, co-founder and CEO of the admissions consulting firm Clear Admit, helps international applicants ready themselves for the U.S. He'll be taking your questions on everything from what to do about your loans to how to fit in with your American peers during a live chat on Aug.18 at noon ET.

Richmond has spent nearly 15 years in MBA admissions, including a previous stint as admissions counselor at the Wharton School. He holds a BA in art history from Swarthmore College and an MBA from University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School (Wharton Full-Time MBA School Profile).

To participate in the chat, you should head to the Business Schools homepage on about 10 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin. There, you'll find a promo for the chat (on the right side of the page, toward the bottom). Click on the promo to enter the Chat Auditorium. You'll be asked to register with the site if you haven't already done so. It's free and should only take a few minutes.

Your host for this event will be Francesca Di Meglio (FrancescaBW), the Business Schools community manager and reporter.

Hope to see you there!

If you can't attend a live event, you can send Francesca Di Meglio ( questions in advance, and she'll try to ask as many as she can. Please use the subject line "International Chat." Or, you may simply read the transcript that we post afterward.
