AGA Welcomes New CEO, Ann Ebberts
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- July 24, 2014
AGA welcomes Ann Ebberts, MS, PMP, as chief executive officer (CEO) effective
October 1. She will assume this role after current CEO, Relmond Van Daniker,
DBA, CPA, retires Sept. 30.
Ebberts has 30-years of management consulting experience with the federal
government in the areas of financial management, financial process
improvement, program evaluation, shared services, and in providing project
management and advisory support services for the implementation of accounting,
acquisition, travel and grant management systems.
She spent the last 26 years of her career at Booz Allen Hamilton, recently
retiring after serving as a vice president in the Financial Services group.
She began her career providing financial support to many large Navy
shipbuilding programs. Since 1995, Ann provided accountability and program
management advisory services to the civilian side of the government financial
management community including the U.S. Agency for International Development,
Environmental Protection Agency, General Services Administration, U.S.
Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Justice, Labor, State and Veterans
Affairs, and, most recently, to World Bank, International Monetary Fund,
InterAmerican Development Bank and Fannie Mae.
“Through her strong leadership skills and by working with AGA in the past, Ann
definitely has the tools needed to understand today’s challenges while
capitalizing on our opportunities,” said Mary Peterman, MPA, CGFM, CPA, AGA’s
2013–2014 National President.
In 2013, AGA’s National Executive Committee commenced a formal search to
identify its next CEO. Recognizing the challenging and important task ahead —
and in keeping with AGA’s emphasis on transparency and accountability — a
search committee was convened to represent the diverse range of interests of
our major stakeholders. Executive search firm JDG Associates assisted.
Ebberts, who has a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University
of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from Virginia
Tech, is a certified Project Management Professional. She has been a member of
AGA for more than 15 years and served as Booz Allen Hamilton’s representative
within AGA’s Corporate Partner Advisory Group.
“It will be a privilege to lead AGA in these dynamic times,” said Ebberts.
“AGA has forged its reputation as the thought-leadership organization within
the government finance community. This is based on trust, integrity and
working collaboratively toward thoughtful solutions to federal, state and
local governments’ most pressing challenges.I am honored to build on this
strong history and lead AGA into the future.”
