Record Attendance at AIG Advisor Group’s 2014 Women’s Conference
NEW YORK -- June 11, 2014
AIG Advisor Group hosted its eighth annual Women’s Conference in Miami,
Florida, June 8-10. The event attracted over 650 attendees, including
independent female financial advisors from FSC Securities, Royal Alliance,
SagePoint Financial and Woodbury Financial, as well as female advisors from
VALIC and agents affiliated with AIG Financial Network.
“Our 2014 Women’s Conference was an incredible success,” said Erica McGinnis,
President and CEO, AIG Advisor Group. “We are firmly committed to attracting
more women to the financial services industry and to helping our female
advisors succeed. Providing unique opportunities for learning and networking –
like our annual Women’s Conference – are critical elements of success.”
The conference included nearly 50 breakout sessions on a variety of topics,
including social security, estate planning, working with widows, and more.
Attendees especially enjoyed advisor-led breakout sessions focused on practice
management and business development.
Teresa McClelland-Sargent was named Advisor Group’s Community Leadership Award
honoree for her work with the Mott Community College’s Women in Education
program. AIG Advisor Group will make a $1,000 contribution to the cause.
AIG Advisor Group also presented Junior Achievement of Miami with a $30,000
donation, raised by the company, AIG and through contributions from the
event’s sponsors. Twenty female high school students from Junior Achievement
of Miami attended the conference, meeting with advisors and learning more
about careers in financial services.
“Exposing young women to successful female financial advisors empowers them to
consider a career in financial services and opens the door to powerful
connections,” said McGinnis. “Investing in future generations and in causes
that promote financial literacy is the right thing to do, not only for our
business, but also for the industry and the people we serve.”
