Aggreko Powers Permian Basin and Supports Local Utilities with Opening of
New Service Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico
HOUSTON -- June 10, 2014
Aggreko, a global leader in temporary power generation, temperature control
and oil-free compressed air solutions, announced today the opening of a new
service center in Carlsbad, New Mexico to meet the growing demand for
temporary utility services in the oil and gas, mining, utility, petrochemical
and refining industries. Backed by a nationwide network of service centers,
the facility maintains the full complement of Aggreko’s equipment, services
and support. The center sits on a two acre lot to allow for a wide-array of
inventory to meet both long-term and emergency requirements.
“The growth of activity in the Permian Basin has prompted a need for more
readily available and accessible power sources, not only to support oil and
gas production, but also to support utilities where the added strain on the
grid puts local communities at risk for unexpected outages,” said John Morgan,
Vice President, West Area General Manager, Aggreko North America. “With this
new facility, we are better positioned to service our clients with faster
turnarounds and maintain our commitment to providing reliable, cost-effective
and scalable power solutions.”
The ripple effect from the boom in shale activity has also prompted a higher
demand for more cost-effective natural gas-powered generators to address
flaring concerns and reduce emissions. With Aggreko’s fleet of natural gas
generators and gas cleaning applications, operators in the Permian Basin will
be able to leverage on-site alternative fuels to power operations, reducing
their environmental impact and maximizing revenue. Customers will also benefit
from Aggreko’s Remote Monitoring (ARM) service, which transmits real-time data
from equipment, allowing Aggreko to anticipate, diagnose and solve problems
faster and with greater accuracy — and proactively head off potential issues.
Customers can also expect to take advantage of Aggreko’s specialized service
teams. Aggreko Process Services (APS) is an experienced process engineering
team that helps customers improve their processes and operations to enhance
bottom-line performance and address environmental concerns. Aggreko Cooling
Tower Services (ACTS) focuses on improving cooling water performance and
reliability through temporary cooling tower installations. Unique to the
rental industry, APS and ACTS can design, install and provide technical
support and maintenance at extremely short notice.
Aggreko’s new facility is open for business and located at 5321 Sierra
District, Carlsbad, NM. For more information visit us.aggreko.com.

Aggreko provides power and temperature control solutions to customers who need
them either very quickly, or for a short or indeterminate length of time.
Examples would be the supply of power to an industrial site which needs to
service its permanent power supply, supplying a whole city in times of power
shortage, or providing a major sporting event with power and cooling systems.
We serve our customers either through our 202 service centres, which we call
the Local business, or globally through our Power Projects business.
In the Local business, which accounts for about half of our revenues, we hire
our equipment to customers, who then operate it for themselves, although we
retain responsibility for servicing and maintaining it. In the Power Projects
business, which also accounts for about half of our revenues, we operate as a
power producer. We install and operate power plants and we charge our
customers both for providing the generating capacity, and for the electricity
we produce. We design and manufacture equipment specifically for these
requirements in our factory in Dumbarton, Scotland.
Recent customers include the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the
Ryder Cup and Cirque du Soleil and the power utilities in over 50 countries
including the UK, France, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Indonesia, Bangladesh,
Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and the USA.
In 2013 we fulfilled almost 48,000 customers’ assignments and 72% of those who
responded to our research gave us a recommendation of 9 or 10 out of 10.
