from TELUS
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/14 -- (TSX:
T)(NYSE: TU) - On the heels of its national Day of Giving, TELUS is
inviting Canadians to share how they give back in their communities.
Until July 16, Canadians who share their community giving photos and
stories at givewherewelive.ca and on Twitter and Instagram using the
hashtag #givewherewelive will give their favourite charity or cause
the opportunity to receive up to $50,000 from TELUS.
"Giving back in the communities where we live, work and play is part
of TELUS' DNA and we're consistently inspired by others who are
making a difference by giving their time and support to organizations
in need," said Jill Schnarr, vice president, Community Affairs,
TELUS. "Amazing things happen when we come together to give where we
live, and we're proud to recognize Canadians who share their stories
of giving with a grant that will positively impact the people and
organizations they help each and every day."
By embracing its Give Where We Live philosophy, TELUS, its team
members and retirees have contributed more than $350 million to
charitable and not-for-profit organizations and volunteered 5.4
million hours of service to local communities since 2000. In 2013
alone, TELUS contributed more than $46 million to charities and
non-profit organizations across Canada.
