insight, today announced the publication of its 2013 Sustainability Report.
The report, which is available online, provides a progress update on the
previous year’s successes and highlights upcoming sustainability goals and
objectives.

Among its major achievements for 2013: IHS was named for the first time to the
Dow Jones North America Sustainability Index. The company also exceeded its
goal of 10,000 colleague volunteer hours, with nearly 16,000 total hours
shared in the communities it serves.

“At IHS, we strive to embed a philosophy of sustainability into everything
that we do,” said Scott Key, IHS president and CEO. “It means creating a great
place to work, being the best company we can be and making a positive
difference globally and in the 31 countries where IHS colleagues live and
work.”

“We are in a unique position at IHS because we have the ability to define and
execute on sustainability in a way that no other company can by combining our
expertise and commercial solutions with our own internal corporate
sustainability efforts,” said Jane Okun Bomba, senior vice president, chief
sustainability, investor relations and communications officer for IHS. “Every
day, we help our customers and clients to minimize risk and drive operational
excellence and innovation, enabling their own sustainability and long-term
viability.”

The report details the measurable ways in which 8,000 IHS colleagues directly
shape a sustainable culture by engaging in community outreach activities and
in giving back through volunteering and team-driven community improvement
efforts. New elements to the IHS sustainability program added in 2013,
included a materiality analysis, goal setting and commitments across the
business, as well as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) mapping. These new
elements lend insight and transparency into how sustainability is embedded
within IHS and throughout the company’s culture.
