Delignit AG and Hitachi Rail Europe announce their cooperation in the
Intercity Express Programme (IEP) for Great Britain

- 122 trains to be provided with a Delignit system floor solution
- Order volume in the mid-million euro range
- Replacements for intercity express trains in Great Britain

Blomberg, 23. May 2014. Delignit AG (ISIN DE000A0MZ4B0) - leading
manufacturer of ecological, hardwood-based products and system solutions -
is to fit out 122 intercity express trains of Japanese rail manufacturer
Hitachi with its innovative Delignit system floor solution. The new trains
will be deployed on high-speed rail routes in Great Britain. The total
order for Delignit AG spread out over the next few years is valued at a
mid-million euro figure. The first three pre-series trains will go into
operation in 2015. The Delignit system floor solution based on beechwood
meets the high technical requirements for public transportation in high
speed trains and - aside from its exceptional strength - provides
additional weight advantages in compliance with the requirements for fire
protection and sound insulation. The Hitachi contract clearly attests to
the technological strength of the Delignit solution and equally to its
ecological benefits. Over the past few years, Delignit AG has consistently
extended its product range in the company's fast growing rail sector.

The new Hitachi Rail Europe trains for the Intercity Express Programme will
be deployed on the Great Western and East Coast Main Lines in Great
Britain. The two routes connecting London with Bristol and London with
Edinburgh rank as the most important ones in Great Britain. Over the next
few years, the intention is to replace the almost 40 year-old intercity
trains now in service. The new trains can be both electric and
diesel-operated and will reach travelling speeds of 200 km/h. Passengers
will not only enjoy faster connections but also improved furnishings and
comfort in the new trains. The first three trains of a total of 122
(equalling 866 carriages) will be manufactured in Japan. Serial production
will then take place in a new Hitachi plant in Great Britain.

The Delignit Group:

The Delignit Group develops, manufactures and distributes predominately
hardwood-based ecological materials and system solutions. The Delignit
Group is a recognized development and project partner and approved supplier
for technology industries such as, for instance, the automotive and
aviation industries as well as safety engineering. The products are
characterised by particular technological properties and their areas of
application include usage as assembly systems for commercial vehicles,
interior trim for cars and fire-safe building facilities. As a rule, the
Delignit material is based on regenerative substances, is CO2-neutral
throughout its life cycle and therefore superior to non-regenerative
materials such as plastics and steel. The usage of the Delignit material
therefore improves the customers' products and meets their increasing
ecological demands. The Delignit Group's operational business comprises the
automotive business unit as well as that of technological applications. The
company was founded over 200 years ago. Delignit AG is listed in
Frankfurt's Stock Market Entry Standard.
