TORONTO, May 1, 2014 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) once again helps kick
off the excitement of the FIFA World Cup™ with a new contest that gives
Canadians the chance to win one million Aventura travel points - enough for a
family of four to vacation anywhere in the world the beautiful game is played.
As the Official Canadian Bank in Association with Visa of the 2014 FIFA World
Cup™, CIBC is launching a campaign built around the theme 'there's a fan
inside us all'. In the weeks leading up to the biggest single-event sporting
competition in the world, the bank will host a series of soccer-themed events
across Canada to get fans revved up about their favourite soccer nations.
"The World Cup brings out the pride and passion of billions of fans worldwide,
and here in Canada, our rich multicultural heritage will ensure every
competing country has a local cheering section," says Stephen Forbes, CIBC's
Executive Vice President, Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs. "To
celebrate the universal appeal of the 'beautiful game', CIBC is inviting
Canadians to participate in our new contest, one that unites the popularity of
soccer and travel, where you can win enough Aventura points for a trip to any
country of your choice."
The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ takes place from June 12 to July 13,
involving 32 national teams, playing 64 matches in 12 cities across Brazil.
