The theme of this year's MCRCon cybersecurity conference in Ypsilanti focuses on one of today's most compelling cybersecurity issues: the Internet of Things (IoT). Everything seems to be connected to the Internet. Phones, televisions, appliances, vehicles, eyewear, powerplants, security systems, and more are sending and receiving information. MCRCon will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, which is located at 1275 S Huron Street in Ypsilanti.  During MCRCon, the staff of the Michigan Cyber Range will demonstrate the capabilities of the range and Alphaville, the secure environment that enables users to practice cybersecurity techniques. Alphaville can be used for live-fire cybersecurity exercises and to practice securing SCADA systems, servers, and a variety of IT environments.  Attendees can participate in a capture the flag (CTF) challenge during the event. The CTF event is set in a virtual environment within the Michigan Cyber Range. Participants will navigate through the environment's heterogeneous network finding clues and collecting flags. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners.
