RADNOR, Pa. -- April 10, 2014

Airgas, Inc. (NYSE: ARG) today announced that it has been awarded two Fleet
Safety Excellence Awards for 2013 by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA), the
U.S. industrial, specialty and medical gas industry’s standard-setting
organization for the promotion of safety standards and safe practices. The
first award honored Airgas’ cylinder vehicle fleet for the fifth consecutive
year; the second award recognized Airgas’ bulk vehicle fleet for the fifth
time since 2005.

During a ceremony in St. Augustine, FL, on behalf of Airgas’ fleet of 5,200
professional drivers, John Anderson, Airgas’ Director of DOT Operations,
accepted the Cylinder Vehicle Fleet award and Rafiq Huq, Regional Manager for
Airgas Dry Ice and Carbonic, accepted the Bulk Vehicle Fleet award.

The CGA calculates its Fleet Safety awards on a CGA member company’s total
vehicle accident frequency rate per million miles driven during the year. The
CGA recognizes one small fleet and one large fleet in each of the Bulk Vehicle
and Cylinder Vehicle categories; Airgas won the large fleet award in both
categories.

“We are honored to be recognized by the CGA for having the lowest vehicle
accident frequency rate among large cylinder gas and bulk fleets,” said Airgas
President and CEO Michael Molinini. “Our drivers continued to raise the bar in
2013, covering more than 130 million miles while safely meeting the needs of
our cylinder and bulk gas customers. Safety is of the utmost importance in our
industry and the top priority for Airgas. Our drivers truly are the best in
the business, and we are proud of their dedication to driving and serving our
customers safely.”
