MONTREAL, April 1, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Discount Car and Truck Rentals,
Canada's largest vehicle rental company and the only one owned and operated by
Canadians, is proud to announce a new partnership with Petro-Canada's
Petro-Points™ customer loyalty program.
"We think our customers will see great value in the savings we can offer by
partnering with the Petro-Points program. There is a natural fit between
Discount and Petro-Points because almost all of our customers own their own
vehicles; now they can turn their car rental expenditures with Discount into
everyday rewards," said Robert Lalonde, vice-president of Discount Car and
Truck Rentals in Quebec.
The new partnership will allow Discount Car and Truck Rentals' customers to
earn and redeem Petro-Points with any car and truck rental made at nearly 300
participating Discount Car and Truck Rentals locations across Canada
(excluding New Brunswick and Newfoundland). Discount customers will collect 10
points for every $1 spent on vehicle rentals, and can redeem 12,000 points for
$10 off their rental. Petro-Points members will also benefit from Discount's
free drop off and pick-up service - one of the pillars of Discount's
exceptional customer service commitment.
"Partnerships are what make the Petro-Points loyalty program unique and we
believe we have found a great partner in Discount," said Louis Cote, director,
Loyalty and Strategic Partnerships for Suncor Energy, the proud owner of
Petro-Canada. "By adding Discount as a Petro-Points partner we are able to
offer our customers more places to earn points and more choice in rewards."
Discount customers can book rentals online at www.discountcar.com or by phone
at 310-CARS. Customers can earn and redeem Petro-Points by presenting their
Petro-Points card at any of the nearly 300 participating Discount Car and
