Siluria Technologies Participates in Key White House, GE Bloomberg Energy 2020
SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/03/14 -- Executives from
Siluria Technologies, a pioneer in the commercial production of fuels
and chemicals made from clean, abundant natural gas, participated in
two important meetings in Washington, D.C., this past week on the
expanding role of natural gas in the global economy.
Siluria's CEO Ed Dineen spoke at Energy 2020, an event sponsored by
Bloomberg and General Electric. One key theme of the event was
"Enabling the Age of Gas" and Dineen's talk addressed the audience on
how Siluria's technology will become a vehicle for using the world's
resources in a more efficient manner. Siluria Technologies was the
only natural gas technology company chosen to present at this
forward-looking energy policy event. Other speakers included GE CEO
Jeffrey Immelt, North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple, Colorado
Governor John Hickenlooper, Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago, and Matt
Rose, Executive Chairman of BNSF Railway Company.

Later in the week Siluria's Vice President of Corporate Development,
Rahul Iyer, met with leaders at the White House to discuss Public
Private Partnerships and America's Energy Future. The meeting was
attended by a number of Administration officials including Department
of Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz and Assistant Secretary David
Danielson. Other notable industry participants included Daniel
Yergin, Vice Chairman of IHS, Raymond Kilmer, Executive Vice
President of Alcoa, Jim Bruce, Vice President of UPS, Mark Wagner,
Vice President of Johnson Controls and Ethan Zindler, Head of North
America at Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

add to the American energy and manufacturing landscape," said Iyer.
The event was coordinated by Business Forward, an organization of
business leaders from across America formed to advise Washington
policy makers on how to create jobs and accelerate our economic
recovery. Iyer is an active member of the Local Leadership Council.
Siluria has developed a catalytic process for efficiently and
economically transforming natural gas -- the most abundant
hydrocarbon on earth -- into liquid fuels, plastics and chemicals.
Siluria's Oxidative Coupling of Methane (OCM) dramatically reduces
the cost, complexity and emissions associated with creating
higher-value hydrocarbons. Siluria estimates that its process could
save some chemical manufacturers up to $1 billion a year in capital
and operating costs with its process.
Recently, Siluria and Braskem, a leading producer of thermoplastic
resins in the Americas, have entered a joint relationship to explore
commercialization of the technology and create a commercial-scale
demonstration plant, which will begin operation later this year.
