Intuit Supports Dave Camp Tax Simplification Proposal
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- February 27, 2014
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) today issued the following statement in support of
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp’s proposal to simplify the
U.S. tax code.
It can be attributed to Brad Smith, Intuit president and chief executive
“As a company that tackles the current tax code on behalf of 26 million
Americans each year, we knowhow complex the tax code can be. Tax reform
should be focused on simplifying the tax code and making it easier for
individuals and small businesses tounderstand their taxes.
“We commend Chairman Camp and the House Ways and Means Committee for their
efforts to address the daunting task of tax simplification and reform. Intuit
is committed, like the chairman, to see the tax code simplified, reducing the
burden on American taxpayers and small businesses. This is a national policy
imperative and Intuit looks forward to working with him and other policymakers
of both parties across the Congress as the tax reform process moves forward.”
