Vybrid(TM) Controller Solutions
Timesys Reiterates Support for Freescale Vybrid Controller Solutions
With Software for New Quartz Board
PITTSBURGH, PA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/26/14 -- Timesys Corporation
(http://www.timesys.com), provider of easy-to-use and affordable
embedded Linux solutions and world-class professional services and
training, and Device Solutions, designer and developer of System on
Module (SoM) for industrial, medical and automotive applications,
today announced the addition of a Timesys LinuxLink PRO Edition
release for developers targeting the Device Solutions Quartz SoM for
Freescale Vybrid controller solutions. In keeping with other software
releases for Freescale Vybrid controller solutions, Timesys will
offer this new LinuxLink PRO Edition, which includes full support, at
no charge to developers building embedded devices around Vybrid
controller solutions.
As a leader in embedded Linux software development, Timesys continues
to extend software support for the Freescale Vybrid controller
solutions ecosystem. With LinuxLink PRO Edition for Device Solutions'
Quartz Development Kit, developers have access to the easiest-to-use
software available for embedded Linux development. This fully
supported subscription includes both the award-winning LinuxLink PRO
Edition and Timesys' TimeStorm IDE -- providing a highly integrated
development environment and toolset that makes it an ideal solution
for developers wanting to leverage the multi-core, multi-processing
architecture of Freescale Vybrid controller solutions and easily
build applications requiring rich-human interfaces and real-time
connectivity.
"Timesys is fully committed to supporting Freescale Vybrid controller
solutions. We continue to focus on supporting the ecosystem and
innovative products like the Device Solutions Quartz Development Kit.
Freescale Vybrid controller solutions developers have a huge value in
software available for them -- software that otherwise can cost
upwards of $5000 per seat," said Atul Bansal, CEO of Timesys. "Due to
our unique relationship with Freescale and the Vybrid controller
solutions ecosystem, we are excited to extend support to include the
Device Solutions Quartz SoM as an interesting option for embedded
developers."
The Quartz SoM is the world's smallest Vybrid based module. It is
available in two variants -- a 45mm x 35mm x 7mm package with
board-to-board connectors, and a 35mm x 35mm x 3mm LGA surface-mount
package for space constrained and high-vibration environments. The
module is supported by a development kit which includes standard
Ethernet, USB, serial, audio and SD card connections, along with CAN,
digital and analog IO and analog video in features. It can be
purchased with an optional 7" TFT LCD and also supports LVDS displays
including a 10.1" panel with capacitive touch input.

our customers the best possible start on development with Linux on
Quartz."
