Lipitor Lawsuits Certified for Multi-District Litigation in Charleston, SC
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- February 20, 2014
The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation today ordered Lipitor
lawsuits that are currently pending in federal courts nationwide to be
consolidated in a multidistrict litigation (MDL) in Charleston, South
Carolina. The lawsuits allege that Lipitor caused women to develop type-2
diabetes. Fourteen of the suits are pending in South Carolina. The Honorable
Richard M. Gergel is currently presiding over the South Carolina cases and was
assigned the MDL today.
