Aggreko Powers America’s Football Championship

  Aggreko Powers America’s Football Championship

Business Wire

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- January 28, 2014

Aggreko, a global leader in rental power and temperature control solutions,
will provide large-scale power generation for America’s largest national
football championship game on February 2, 2014 between the Seattle Seahawks
and the Denver Broncos. The event, taking place in East Rutherford, NJ at the
MetLife Stadium, will require heating and an unprecedented 21 MW of power,
taking into consideration the frigid weather conditions and additional
security needs of the highly populated metropolitan area.

“This marks the 24^th year Aggreko will be supplying power and climate control
solutions to the big game and surrounding festivities,” said David Prince,
Event Services Senior Project Manager, Aggreko North America. “Our experience
in dealing with energy demands both large and small equip Aggreko uniquely to
execute the many engineered decisions and installations required for a
successful event of this magnitude.”

Aggreko’s major events division, Aggreko Event Services, will power Bruno
Mars’ half-time performance, the broadcast and international media compounds,
stadium security efforts and several celebration sites and VIP areas.

Powering an event of this magnitude requires a massive amount of Aggreko
equipment and manpower, including:

  * 21 megawatts of temporary electric power
  * 60 heaters, including 740 kW of outdoor heat for the open-air stadium’s
    press seats
  * A crew of 12 Aggreko technicians for installation and operation
  * Hundreds of accessories, including panels, transformers and approximately
    80 miles of cable

An event of this nature also requires detailed design and logistics. The
Aggreko team kicked off initial planning meetings almost one year ago
following the 2013 game, and installation for this year began right after the
New Year. The complete project timeline, including equipment removal, will
encompass approximately two months.

Aggreko has a long history of providing critical power to high-profile
championship sporting events, including seven PGA Championships, nine U.S.
Open championship tournaments and the recent 34th America’s Cup in San
Francisco. Aggreko has also recently been named the Official Temporary Power
Generator of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.

EDITOR’S NOTES

Aggreko plc is the world leader in the supply of temporary power and
temperature control solutions. Aggreko employs over 5,700 people operating
from 194 locations. In 2012 we served customers in about 100 countries, and
had revenues of approximately GBP 1.6bn (USD 2.5bn or Euros 2.0bn). Aggreko
plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange (AGK.L), is a member of the
FTSE-100 index, and is headquartered in Scotland. For more information, please
visit the company website at www.aggreko.com

Aggreko provides power and temperature control solutions to customers who need
them either very quickly, or for a short or indeterminate length of time.
Examples would be the supply of power to an industrial site which needs to
service its permanent power supply, supplying a whole city in times of power
shortage, or providing a major sporting event with power and cooling systems.
We serve our customers either through our 194 service centers, which we call
the Local business, or globally through our Power Projects business.

In the Local business, which accounts for about half of our revenues, we hire
our equipment to customers, who then operate it for themselves, although we
retain responsibility for servicing and maintaining it. In the Power Projects
business, which also accounts for about half of our revenues, we operate as a
power producer. We install and operate power plants and we charge our
customers both for providing the generating capacity, and for the electricity
we produce. We design and manufacture equipment specifically for these
requirements in our factory in Dumbarton, Scotland.

Recent customers include the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the
Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the power utilities in over 50
countries including the UK, France, Angola, Kenya, Indonesia, Bangladesh,
Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and the USA.

In 2012 we fulfilled almost 45,000 customers’ assignments and 70% of those who
responded to our research gave us a recommendation of 9 or 10 out of 10.
